No. 16 Wartburg Travels to Face Dubuque to Open Conference Play

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 16 Wartburg women's basketball team (10-1 overall) travels to face Dubuque (5-6) Wednesday at 6 p.m. to begin the Iowa Conference portion of its schedule. The Knights bring their eight-game winning streak into the game and the Spartans have won their last two in a row.

The Series
Wartburg leads the all-time series at 48-24 and have won the last two meetings.

Wartburg
Senior Kailey Kladivo (Traer) is the team's leading scorer (15.1 PPG) and leading rebounder (8.0 rebounds/game). Sophomore Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) and senior Bobbie Burrows (Bondurant) join her in double digits with 12.0 and 10.4 PPG, respectively.

Kladivo became the program's 12th member of the 1,000 career point club last week and has 1,028 points to date which ranks 11th best. She needs four points to move into tenth all-time.

Sommer has a team-best 54 assists and classmate Aryn Jones (Marion) has a team-high 14 blocks.

Dubuque
The Spartans also have three players in double figures as Abbey Meyer paces the team with 15.6 PPG and Emily Brinker follows closely with 15.5. Braanna Steen completes the trio with 11.5 PPG and leads the team on the glass with 8.5 rebounds/game.
