MANKATO, Minn.-- Junior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) scored a career-high 25 points in the 83-61 win over Bethany Lutheran Tuesday. Her previous mark was 18 set against Wisconsin Lutheran in the NCAA Tournament last season.
Classmate Katie Sommer (Marion) tallied a double-double with 12 points and career-best 10 rebounds which was also her first career double-double. Juniors Aryn Jones (Marion) and Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) rounded out the team's leading scorers with 10 points each.
The No. 10/11 Knights moved to 3-0 on the year and the Vikings fell to 0-2. The Orange and Black held the one-point lead at 17-16 after the first quarter and added to their margin in the second and third quarters with 20 and 31 points, respectively.
Wartburg held all of the team advantages and held Bethany Lutheran to .292 from behind the three-point line.
With the win, the Knights now lead the all-time series between the programs at 8-0.
The Orange and Black return to the court Saturday when they host UW-Eau Claire at 2 pm.
