INDIANOLA, Iowa-- The trio of sophomores Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids), Aryn Jones (Marion) and Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) led Wartburg with 27, 20 and 10 points, respectively Wednesday night in the 77-61 win over Simpson.

With the win, the Knights moved to 14-6 overall and 4-5 in IIAC games while Simpson is now 12-8, 5-4. The victory helped the Orange and Black complete the season sweep over the Storm.

Sommer tied her career best of 27 points which she previously set against North Park on Nov. 29 and Jones set a new career mark on the night. Jones also led the team on the glass with seven rebounds.

A 21-point second quarter from the Knights helped them extend their margin to double digits which they did not relinquish for the remainder of the game as they led 37-23 at halftime.

As a team, the Orange and Black held the advantage in field goal percentage (.471 vs .316) and three-point field goal percentage (.333 vs .308).

Wartburg concludes its two-game road trip Saturday when it travels to face Coe at 2 p.m.
