No. 4/14 Wartburg Travels to Face Dubuque to Open Conference Play

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 4/14 Wartburg women's basketball team (3-0 overall, 0-0 IIAC) travels to Dubuque Wednesday to face the Spartans (1-3, 0-0) at 6 p.m.

The Series
The Knights hold the all-time series lead at 53-23, which includes the last six-straight.

Wartburg
Four Knights currently average in double digits. Senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) leads the way at 13.7 PPG, classmates Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) and Abbie Haupert (Collins) follow at 12.3 and 11.0, and sophomore Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) rounds out the leading scorers at 10.7.

Sommer leads the team on the glass with 5.7 rebounds per game, free throw percentage (.889) and assists (20).

Career Leader List Watch
Katie is tied for 12th with 1,006 points, second with 370 assists, sixth with 126 three-point field goals, fourth with 324 free throws.

Twin sister Kristie ranks third with 184 three-point field goals. She needs 166 points to reach 1,000 for her career.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) ranks fifth with 76 blocked shots.

Dubuque
Abbey Meyer is the team's leading scorer at 16.3 PPG and Morgan Boer follows at 12.0. CeCe Pope leads the team with 6.5 rebounds/game.

The Knights rank 1st in won-loss percentage (100), 2nd in free-throw percentage (83.9), 14th in fewest fouls (28), 17th in rebound margin (13.3), 25th in scoring margin (23.3), 29th in assist turnover ratio (1.18), 40th in field-goal percentage (44.6), 44th in assists per game (17.7), 47th in fewest turnovers (45), 47th in scoring defense (52), 50th in scoring offense (75.3), 66th in turnovers per game (15), 69th in 3-point field goals per game (7), 81st in 3-point field goal percentage (33.3), and 84th in blocked shots per game (4).
 
Individually, three Knights rank in the top 100 of six statistical categories. Katie Sommer ranks 12th in assists per game (6.7), 51st in assists (20), and 88th in free-throw percentage (88.9). Miranda Murphy ranks 62nd assist turnover ratio (2.25) and 95th in 3-point field-goal percentage (42.9).

Gerdes ranks 3rd in 3-point field-goal percentage (77.8) and 65th in steals per game (3.33).
