No. 2/6 Wartburg Hosts Dubuque

WAVERLY, Iowa--  The No. 2/6 Wartburg women's basketball team (18-0 overall, 9-0 IIAC) hosts Dubuque (4-15, 2-8) Saturday at 2 p.m. The Knights continue to stand atop the IIAC standings, while the Spartans are ninth.

The Series
The Knights hold the all-time series lead at 53-23, which includes the last seven-straight. Wartburg was victorious, 86-58, in the first meeting this season on No. 29, 2017

Wartburg
Senior Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the leading scorer for the Knights with 13.9 PPG. She also has a team-high 110 assists, and 34 steals. She has moved into the fifth leading scorer in the IIAC at 16.7 PPG and leads the conference with 6.2 assists/game.

Classmate Miranda Murphy (Alleman) follows with 11.7 PPG and is second with 5.1 rebounds/game. Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) leads the team with 5.7 rebounds/game and has a team-best 27 blocks.

In IIAC games, senior Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the 12th leading scorer with 12.3 PPG. Jones and senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) average double digits at 10.9 and 10.8 PPG, respectively.

Career Leader List Watch
Katie is 10th with 1,219 points, the all-time career leader with 460 assists, seventh with 157 three-point field goals, and third with 390 free throws.

Twin sister Kristie has tied the program's mark in three-point field goals at 217, set by Samantha Harrington from 2007-11.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) ranks fourth with 103 blocked shots.

Dubuque
The Spartans enter the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Two players average in double figures as Abbey Meyer has a team-best 15.1 PPG and Morgan Boer follows at 10.4. Cece Pope has a team-high 7.2 rebounds/game.

Meyer is the seventh leading scorer in conference games at 15.3 PPG.
