No. 2/2 Wartburg Travels to Central for Regular Season Finale

WAVERLY, Iowa--  The No. 2/2 Wartburg women's basketball team (24-0 overall, 15-0 IIAC) concludes the regular season Saturday at Central (7-17, 2-13) at 2 p.m. The Knights have won the regular season title and clinched the top seed for the conference tournament, while the Dutch are ninth on the IIAC standings.

The Orange and Black are one of six teams in all NCAA divisions that remain undefeated.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time series lead at 54-24, and have won the last 11 straight.

Senior Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) is the leading scorer for the Knights with 15.3 PPG. She also has a team-high 143 assists, and 59 steals. Katie is the conference's fifth-leading scorer (17.7 PPG) and assists leader (5.9/game).

Classmate Miranda Murphy (Alleman) follows with 11.8 PPG and leads the team with 5.5 rebounds/game.

In IIAC games, senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) averages 10.8 PPG, Kristie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) has 10.2 PPG and Aryn Jones (Marion) rounds out those in double figures with 10.2.

Career Leader List Watch
Katie is seventh with 1,335 points, the all-time career leader with 493 assists, fifth with 172 three-point field goals, and third with 429 free throws.

Twin sister Kristie is the program's career leader in three-point field goals at 227. She is also 12th with 1,031 points.

Miranda Murphy joins the scoring leader list at 1,035, which ranks 11th.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) ranks third with 110 blocked shots.

Single Season Leader List Watch
Katie is 10th in free throws (121) and is second in assists (143). She needs 14 to break her own single season record.

Jones is tied for ninth in blocked shots (34).

Central
Emily Dine continues to lead her team at 13.7 PPG and Jessica Helton follows at 10.7. Jackie Kriegel leads the team on the glass with 11.7 rebounds/game.
