Wartburg Hosts Hamline, Travels to Concordia Chicago and Illinois Tech

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's lacrosse team (5-6 overall, 2-4 MWLC) will host Hamline (8-4, 7-0) Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Knights will then take to the road to face Concordia Chicago (3-10, 2-6) Saturday at 12 p.m. and Illinois Tech (4-7, 3-4) Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Pipers currently stand atop the MWLC standings. The Scarlet Hawks are seventh, the Orange and Black are eighth, and the Cougars are 11th.

The Series
The Pipers hold the all-time series lead at 2-0. Wartburg leads 2-0 against Concordia Chicago, and Illinois Tech leads 2-1 all-time.

Wartburg
Junior Ashlyn Jelinek (Stillwater, Minn.) and freshman Bri Greiskalns (Oakdale, Minn.) co-lead the team with 31 goals. Greiskalns adds a team-high 10 assists for a team-best 41 points.

Sophomore Alex Pollock (Chaska, Minn.) and seniors Allie Stahmer (Chicago) and Sierra Lovato (Phoenix) round out those in double digit goals with 25, 18, and 11, respectively.

Sophomore goalie Laura Sinkovitz (York, Pa.) has 93 saves.

Career Record Watch
Stahmer and Falco continue to maintain their hold as the leaders in games played (61).

Stahmer is also the all-time leader in goals (73) and assists (24).

In goals, Jelinek is fourth (55) Pollock is sixth (49), Greiskalns is seventh (31), senior Kyra Saragaglia (Schaumburg, Ill.) is eighth (28), and Lovato is ninth (23).

In assists, Jelinek is third (13), Pollock and Greisklans are seventh (10), and Saragaglia is tied for eighth (8).

Jelinek is second (11) and Pollock is tied for third (8) in free position goals. Saragaglia and Lovato are tied for fifth with (4) and Stahmer is sixth (4).

Sinkovitz is second in saves (210) and wins (10).

Single Season Record Watch
Jelinek's and Greiskalns' 31 goals ranks fifth.

Greiskalns' 10 assists are fourth.

Pollock's 25 goals rank sixth and five assists are tied for ninth.

Sinkovitz's 93 saves are fourth.

Hamline
The Pipers have nine players who have double digit goals.Sydney Dynneson leads the team with 23, while Lexus Tatge and Radien Lenz follow with 20 each.

Concordia Chicago
Margaret Doane leads the team with 32 goals. Anna Kellar follows at 27 and Syndey Fuller completes the leading scorers with 19.

Illinois Tech
Alyssa DeLuca leads the team with 31 goals. Shanie Scoles and Madison Meredith join her in double figures with 24 and 11, respectively.

The Scarlet Hawks travel to face Aurora and host Loras before facing Wartburg.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of three statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 76th in scoring defense (9.55), 84th in caused turnovers per game (10.82), and 93rd in saves percentage (.47).
 
Individually, four Knights rank in the top 100 of four statistical categories: senior Marisa Falco (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) ranks 23rd in caused turnovers per game, Jelinek ranks 14th in free position percentage (.727), Sinkovitz  ranks 60th in goals-against average (9.5) and 91st in save percentage (.47), and Pollock ranks 95th in caused turnovers per game (2.18).
