Lacrosse Travels to Face Cornell, Hosts Benedictine

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's lacrosse team (5-9 overall, 2-7 MWLC) travels to face Cornell (6-8, 4-6) Saturday at 12 p.m. and hosts Benedictine (2-12, 1-8) Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Series
The Knights lead 3-0 against the Rams and are 0-3 against the Eagles.

Wartburg
Freshman Bri Greiskalns (Oakdale, Minn.) leads the team with 37 goals and 11 assists for a team-best 48 points. Junior Ashlyn Jelinek (Stillwater, Minn.) follows closely with 33 goals.

Sophomore Alex Pollock (Chaska, Minn.) and seniors Allie Stahmer (Chicago) and Sierra Lovato (Phoenix) round out those in double digit goals with 29, 24, and 12, respectively.

Sophomore goalie Laura Sinkovitz (York, Pa.) has 115 saves.

Career Record Watch
Stahmer and Falco continue to maintain their hold as the leaders in games played (64).

Stahmer is also the all-time leader in goals (79) and assists (26).

In goals, Jelinek is fourth (57) Pollock is fifth (53), Greiskalns is seventh (37), senior Kyra Saragaglia (Schaumburg, Ill.) is eighth (28), and Lovato is ninth (24).

In assists, Jelinek is third (13), Greiskalns is tied for fourth (11), Pollock is seventh (10), and Saragaglia is tied for eighth (8).

Jelinek is now the program leader (12) and Pollock is tied for third (8) in free position goals. Saragaglia and Lovato are tied for fifth with (4) and Stahmer is sixth (4).

Sinkovitz is second in saves (232) and wins (10).

Single Season Record Watch
Greisklans' 37 goals are fifth and Jelinek's 33 are sixth.

Greiskalns' 11 assists are third.

Pollock's 29 goals rank seventh and five assists are tied for ninth.

Sinkovitz's 115 saves are third.

Cornell
This is the fourth year of Cornell's program.

Sydney Cooper leads the team with 20 goals. Lexi Dettbarn and Caitlyn St. Marie follow with 19 each. Barbie Becker, Vaughn Zittle and Brittney Starks round out the leading scorers at 19, 17, and 14, respectively.

Benedictine
The Eagles will play Concordia Chicago Saturday before facing the Knights.
