CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Wartburg women's track & field team competed at the Jack Jennett Invitational on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa on Friday, Jan. 24.
The Knights were led by the distance running group, along with a strong showing from the jumpers.
Wartburg earned top finishes in the 800-meter run, 3,000-meter run, and a runner-up finish in the one-mile run.
Mariah Morter ran a 2:22.71 800m run to earn first place,
Aubrie Fisher turned in a first place 3k time of 10:21.07, while
Cassidy Christopher's 5:25.12 mile time was good for second place.
In the high jump, Wartburg's
Lexi Groe and
Ellie Roquet recorded 4'11'' marks.
Anna Achter took third in the triple jump with a leap of 34'5.75'.
Anna Rehberg paced the Wartburg throwers, taking seventh in the weight throw at 54'3.25'' along with a 39'9.75'' shot put.
Tomorrow, Wartburg is slated to travel to Davenport, Iowa to participate in the St. Ambrose Invitational.
