GENEVA, OH—Two national titles and two new school records fell on the final day of the 2022 NCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the Wartburg College Knights Track and Field program.
Claiming the 2022 national title and a new school record,
Christopher Collet ran an 8:50.57. Collet edged out the runner from UW-Whitewater, who finished in second at 8:50.87.
Dallas Wright claimed the national title in the men's 400 Hurdles, edging out all competitors with a time of 51.04.
Aubrie Fisher was the national runner-up in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, resetting her own school record in the event. Fisher clocked in at 10:20.94.
Wright took third in the men's 400 dash, clocking in at 46.78.
Finishing in fifth place,
Joe Freiburger raced a 14:33.07 in the men's 5000 to land on the podium and earn All-American honors.
Ellie Meyer landed on the podium in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, running a personal best time of 10:38.74 for sixth place.
Daekota Knott jumped 11.87m in the women's triple jump, claiming seventh place in the event.
In the team standings, the Knights men finished in fifth place with 26 points. The Knights women finished in a tie for ninth place with 21 points.
Connor Lancial finished in twelfth place in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, clocking in at 9:21.22.
In the women's 5000-meter run, Fisher clocked in at 17:10.89 for a top-15 finish.
Riley Mayer raced in the event, timing in at 17:55.46.
Collet finished action at the 2022 National Championships, finishing inside the top-10 in the 5000-meter, clocking in at 14:37.39.
The 4x400 relay squad of
Sean Henson,
Wyatt Schmidt,
Mohamed Temsah, and Wright finished in ninth place, recording a time of 3:16.37.
