DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Wartburg women's track & field team took third of 16 teams at the Saint Ambrose University Invitational Saturday, Jan. 25, tallying 87 points.
Freshman
Breya Christopher contributed 18 points for the Knights. She won the high jump for a second consecutive weekend with a first place jump of 5-5. In addition, she recorded a second place triple jump of 36-7.5, which now ranks inside Wartburg's Indoor Top 10 list.
Cherisse Ward also scored points in the triple jump with a seventh place mark of 35-1.25, along with a fourth place long jump of 17-6.
Haley Beckert also tallied four points in the high jump at 4-11, good for fifth place.
Another pair of Knights,
Erica Rittgers and
Alanna Muhammad recorded runner-up times. Rittgers took second with a mile time of 5:19.50. Muhammad took second in the 60-meter dash at 7.82, along with a third place time in the 200-meter dash at 26.25.
In the 400-meter run, a trio of Knights recorded points.
Carson McSorley,
Taylan Olson, and
Jaderial Staebler took fourth, fifth, and seventh, respectively. In the 600-meter run, Bri Dellamuth,
Marissa Nolan, and Abby DeBaille placed sixth through eighth to register nine points.
Wartburg also found success in the 60-meter hurdles, adding 16 points with four Knights inside the top-8.
Maggi Bjustrom led the way with a runner-up time of 9.24.
