WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg men's and women's track teams each took first place out of six teams competing at the Liz Wuertz Indoor Invite inside Hoover Field House on Saturday. The men's team earned 237 points and the women racked up 289 points.
Men
The men took first place in six running events and one field event.
Senior
Denison Harrington earned 10 points for the Knighs taking first place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.03.
Sophomore
Wyatt Schmidt won the 800m coming in at a time of 1:53.35, respectively.
In the mile run, Wartburg had runners finish in the top five, earning 33 points, with junior
Ryan Dalton winning it overall with a time of 4:19.31, respectively.Â
Sophomore
Jay Mixdorf took first in the 5000m run earning a time of 15:31.01, respectively. Six other Knights followed behind to take second through seventh place and contributed 38 points.
Junior
Dallas Wright won the 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.24, respectively.
Senior
Devante Pearson took first in the triple jump at 13.17m.
Women
The women's team took first place in eight running events and one field event.
Sophomore
Alanna Muhammad took first in both the 60m dash and 200m dash, running times of 7.86 and 26.05, respectively.
Senior
Erica Rittgers earned first place and 10 points in the 800m run, with a time of 2:13.19, respectively.
Junior
Cassidy Christopher took first place in the mile, running 5:20.06.
Freshman
Aubrie Fisher tallied 10 points for the Orange and Black with a time of 10:05.54 winning the 3000m run.
Five Knights participated in the 5000m run and earned 33 points with freshman
Carlene Hamilton taking first place with a time of 18:58.18, respectively.
Senior
Anna Achter won the 60m hurdles final with 9.26 with five other Knights following to claim the top six finishes.
A 4x4 relay of senior Abby DeBaillie, senior Bri Dellamuth, junior
Jackie Ganshirt and sophomore
Brenna Jacobs earned the top finish with a time of 3:58.72, respectively.
Junior
Jaderial Staebler took first in the long jump with a jump of 5.35m.
Next up, the Knights are headed to Decorah for the American Rivers Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, Feb. 29.
