DECORAH, Iowa - The Wartburg men's and women's indoor track & field teams finished up competition at the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships. The women's team took first out of nine teams with 211 points, and earned their 16th conference title. The men's team took second out of nine teams with 147 points.
The women's coaches also won Coaching Staff of the Year.
The Knights claimed the first place title in five events. In the men's mile, junior
Ryan Dalton won with a time of 4:19.05. Meanwhile in the men's 3,000-meter run, junior
Joe Freiburger took his second overall win, running a time of 8:33.70. Freiburger also won the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:02.43. Freshman
Breya Christopher took first in the women's high jump with a height of 1.66m. The women's 4x8 relay team consisting of
Carson McSorley,
Natalie Fober,
Moriah Morter and
Belle Tyynismaa, were the winners with an overall time of 9:32.88.
