Men's and Women's Track wins Friday Night Lights Meet

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg men's and women's track and field hosted the Friday Night Lights meet where both teams took first place.The men's team took first out of five teams with 272 points and the women's team team took first out of four teams with 306 points.Ā 

Men
The men's team took first place in six events.

Grant Olson and Mac NuanezĀ came in first and second in the 400m with times of 51.88 and 52.92, respectively.

Dalton Martin and Frosty Lorimer earned 18 points for the Knights taking first and second in the 800m with times of 1:54.94 and 1:56.78, respectively.

Matt Heinzman won the mile with a time of 4:24.50 with two Knights following to earn 24 points.

Ryan Dalton and Sean McDermott led the 3000m run taking first and second with times of 8:54.07 and 8:56.63, respectively.

Dallas Wright notched 10 points winning the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.29. Wright also started the 4x4 relay team that took first overall with Wyatt Schmidt, Martin, and Jared Braun earning a time of 3:23.13

Women
The Knights took first place in nine events. Mikala Sidney took first place in both the 60m dash and 200m dash with times of 8.13 and 26.97, respectively and earned 20 points for the team.Ā 

Jaderial Staebler led the Knights who took places first through fifth in the 400m with a time of 59.57. Carson McSorley followed in a close second at 59.63.

Aubrie Fisher and Jacque Garza took first and second in the 800m with times of 2:20.17 and 2:25.94, respectively.

Cassidy Christopher earned 10 points for the Orange and Black by taking first in the 3000m run with a time of 10:32.27.

In the 60m hurdles, the Knights took first through seventh place with Sailor Hinegardner taking first at 9.27.

A relay team consisting of Jackie Ganshirt, McSorley, Erica Rittgers and StaeblerĀ won the 4x4 relay with a time of 3:59.22.

Darian Wagner took first in the long jump with 4.88m ad Anna Rehberg notched 10 points winning weight throw with a toss of 16.92m.

Next up, the Orange and Black participate in the Midwest Elite Meet Wisconsin Whitewater on Saturday, Feb. 15.Ā
