WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's basketball will head on the road for the first time this season when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to take on the University of Northwestern at 2:00 p.m. in a nonconference matchup on Saturday, Jan. 16.

Attendance Policy
The University of Northwestern will be allowing 150 people into the Ericksen Center for basketball contests, including 30-50 people reserved for the road team. Seating for spectators will take place in accordance with the Eagles' COVID-19 attendance policy.

Last Time Out
The Knights recorded their second victory in just as many games when they took down North Central University by a score of 100-67 on Friday, Jan. 8. Wartburg reached triple figures for the first time since Feb. 20, 2019 when they defeated Simpson College 102-62.
The Knights' offensive attack was led by freshman forward 
Jaedon Murphy who tallied 28 points in her collegiate debut. Senior forward 
Payton Draper and sophomore guard 
Macy Harris also reached double figures in scoring with 18 and 10 points, respectively. The Wartburg supporting cast was on full display as they outscored the North Central bench 58-9.
Defensively the Knights held the Rams to just 40% from the field and from 3-point land. Three scorers from North Central reached double figures including junior center Emily DiGiorgio who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Senior guard 
Ally Conrad led Wartburg in the assist column with five and Murphy logged a team-high eight rebounds to go along with her 28 points. 
University of Northwestern
The University of Northwestern Eagles come into the contest with a 4-2 overall record, with all of their games being played before the holiday break. The Eagles are averaging 75.2 points per contest and are holding their opponents to 63 points per game for an average scoring margin of 12.2. Northwestern is shooting 42.1% from the field, 34.4% from 3-point range and 78.3% from the charity stripe.
The Eagles are led by juniors Megan Roberts, Brooklyn DeKam, Kelsea Lund and Hailey Paup who are all averaging 13 points per game or better. Junior forward Roberts has been the work horse for Northwestern in the first six games as she is averaging 16.3 points per contest and 12.3 rebounds.
Defensively the Eagles are forcing 16.7 turnovers a game and have turned those turnovers into an average of 18.7 points. Northwestern is averaging 7.8 steals, 3.2 blocks and are out rebounding opponents by 7.7 boards per game.
