WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's basketball will return to Levick Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. to take on the University of Dubuque in a nonconference contest. The Knights have enjoyed a 12-game winning streak against the Spartans, dating back to Feb. 14, 2015.Â

Two people per each participant (student-athlete/coach/staff member) will be permitted to attend basketball, volleyball, and wrestling home events inside Levick Arena. Seating for spectators will take place in the west bleachers across from the team benches.Â

Last Time Out
The Knights secured their first road victory of the season on Saturday, Jan. 16 when they defeated the University of Northwestern 62-41. After a closely contested first quarter, the Knights went on a 20-5 run in the second and went on to cruise to the road win.Â
The Orange and Black were led by senior forward
Payton Draper and freshman forward
Jaedon Murphy who both scored a team-best 11 points. Draper shot 80% from the field and nearly recorded her first double-double of the year when she ripped down a game-high nine rebounds. Senior guard
Ally Conrad led all players in assists with five to go along with her five rebounds and nine points. The Knights moved the ball well throughout as 10 of the 12 players recorded a basket in the contest.Â
The points in the paint heavily favored Wartburg as the Knights outscored the Eagles 32-16 in the post. The supporting cast for the Orange and Black outmatched Northwestern's bench, as Wartburg held a 27-3 advantage in that category. Defensively, the Knights forced 16 turnovers on seven steals and held the Eagles to 28.1% shooting from the field and 23.8% from 3-point land.Â
University of Dubuque
The University of Dubuque come into the contest with a 1-2 nonconference record as they defeated mutual opponent North Central University. The Spartans are averaging 76.3 points per game thus far and are shooting 44.8% from the field, 28.9% from 3-point land and 70% from the charity stripe.Â
UD is led by sophomore forward Tabria Thomas who has tallied an average of 18 points in the opening three contests and is shooting 70% from the field and 50% from long range. Junior forward Miah Smith has also been a force for the Spartans as she is nearly averaging a double-double with 9.3 points per game and nine rebounds.Â
Defensively, Dubuque has allowed 81.7 points per game and opponents are shooting 42.4% from the field and 36.5% from behind the arc. The Spartans are out rebounding their competition by four boards and have forced 22 turnovers per game on an average of 14 steals and four blocks.Â
