Knights Continue Non-Conference Play Against North Central

WAVERLY, Iowa - After its season-opening 60-51 victory over Edgewood College, the Wartburg women's basketball team will continue its non-conference competition on Friday, Jan. 8 when they host North Central University inside Levick Arena.

Wartburg Knights (1-0, 0-0 A-R-C) vs. North Central University (6-0, 0-0 UMAC) 

Series Record: Friday will mark the first meeting between the two schools

Attendance Policy
Two people per each participant (student-athlete/coach/staff member) will be permitted to attend basketball, volleyball, and wrestling home events inside Levick Arena. Seating for spectators will take place in the west bleachers across from the team benches.

Last Time Out
The Knights won their seventh straight season opener under head coach Bob Amsberry after they defeated Edgewood College 60-51 on Sunday, Jan. 3. Sophomore Macy Harris led Wartburg in scoring with 14 points while senior Payton Draper and freshman Britney Young also posted double figures in the scoring column. Ally Conrad began her senior campaign with a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with her eight points and three assists. The charity stripe was the difference in the game as the Orange and Black shot 71.4% from the line on 15-of-21 shooting while the Eagles shot only 2-of-5 for 40%. 

North Central University
The North Central Rams from the UMAC located in Minneapolis, Minn. come into the contest with an undefeated 6-0 record. The Rams are shooting an average 41.7% from the field and scoring 80.2 points per game and are allowing only 51.7. North Central also is out rebounding opponents by an average 16.7 margin. Junior center Emily DiGiorgio leads the team in scoring and rebounding with an average of 18.3 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. Sophomore guards Jocelyn Talso and Kadija Conteh are also averaging double figures in the scoring column.
