WAVERLY, IOWA—The Wartburg Knights Women's Basketball squad received 318 points and are ranked No. 10 in the county by D3hoops.com preseason top-25 poll. The d3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members.
The Knights concluded the 2020-21 season with a 13-3 record and a 6-2 record in the A-R-C. The Knights finished third in the A-R-C, behind Simpson and Coe.
The Knights are joined by Simpson, who sits at No. 6 in the top-25. Fellow A-R-C school Loras is receiving votes but not ranked in the preseason poll.
The Knights return
Jaedon Murphy,
Sara Faber,
Macy Harris,
Britney Young, and
Hannah Anderson. Murphy was the second leading scorer for the Knights a season ago and is predicted to make a big impact on the team.
Holding the No. 1 spot is Hope in the top-25 poll, receiving 21 votes and 617 points. Rounding out the top-5 are East Texas Baptist, Trine, Whitman, and Messiah.
The 2021-22 season tips off for the Knights with a home game against Fontbonne. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. on November 6 inside Levick Arena.
