WAVERLY, Iowa - The No. 1-ranked Wartburg men's and women's Wartburg track and field teams completed competition at the Indoor Select American Rivers Conference Triangular versus Central College and Coe College, with the women taking first and the men second.
The women's total team score of 160 points finished ahead of Central's 115 and 23 from the Kohawks. The Dutch men's team finished first with 132, slighting 125 point total from the Wartburg men.
10 first place finishes were recorded for the women, while the men tallied eight.
The majority of the women's team points came from top two finishes in seven events, contributing 12 points each.

Joe Freiburger set a Wartburg indoor school record in the men's 3,000-meter run, crossing the finish line at 8:21.93, beating
Caleb Appleton's record time of 8:23.99 set in 2019.
Aizik Hodak led the men's throwers with top finishes in the shot put (43-1) and a personal best weight throw (48-11).Â
In addition, Wartburg totaled 12 points with the top two times in each the 800-meter run, the mile, and the 3K.
Up next, Wartburg heads to the Buena Vista University Triangular on Saturday, Feb. 13 in Storm Lake, Iowa.
