AMES, Iowa/WHITEWATER, Wis.—Records fell at both the Iowa State Classic and UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invite for the nationally ranked Wartburg Track & Field squads.
The Knights women's program took third place at the UW-Whitewater meet, while the men's squad claimed fifth place.
Records Broken
Breaking the school record by three seconds, Christopher Collet timed in at 8:16.46 in the 3K at the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invite.
Joe Freiburger reset the American Rivers Conference and Wartburg records in the 5K at the Iowa State Invite, timing in at 14:12.27.

At the Iowa State Invite, Joe Freiburger came in ninth place with his record-breaking run.
Riley Mayer competed in the women's 5K for the Knights at Iowa State, timing in at 17:30.39.

Women's Recap
Leading all runners in the women's 3K, Lexi Brown timed in at 10:22.30 for the Orange & Black.
Breya Christopher led all competitors in the women's high jump with a 1.71m.
Aubrie Fisher took runner-up honors in the women's mile with a time of 5:00.40. Shaelyn Hostager continued the Knights top finishes in distance races, timing in at 17:36.11 for third place in the women's 5K.
The women's 4x400 relay squad of Carson McSorley, Lily Campbell, Brenna Jacobs, and Jackie Ganshirt took third place with a time of 3:55.40. Lily Meester took home third place in the women's shot put at 12.41m, while Haley Beminio recorded a 12.27m for fifth place. Beminio took home sixth place in the weight throw at 15.54m.
In the women's 60-meter dash, Mikala Sidney took a top-5 finish in the race (7.89). Sidney would find herself in the top-10 in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 26.39. Sailor Hinegardner took seventh in the women's 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 9.17.
In the women's 400-meter dash, Taylan Olson (59.99) and Rachel Nagel (1:00.50) found spots inside the top-10. Campbell ran a 2:13.93 in the women's 800-meter run for fourth place. McSorley was five seconds behind for a seventh place finish in the event.
Ellie Meyer took a top-8 finish in the women's mile run, clocking in at 5:12.68. Natalie Paulson took ninth in the 5K, racing an 18:12.41.
In field events, Daekota Knott recorded a 5.25m while Shaniah Johnson had a 5.15m in the women's long jump. Knott and Johnson competed in the triple jump, recording a 11.10m and 11.05m respectively.
Men's Recap
Dallas Wright took first place in the men's 60-meter hurdles, timing in at 8.10. Deyton Love ran a 8.23 in the event for third place.
Wyatt Schmidt took runner-up honors in the men's 800-meter run, clocking in at 1:55.06.
In the men's 4x400 relay, Love, Ian Neyens, Riley Nolan, and Wright took second place with a time of 3:21.77. The Knights squad of Jensen Clapp, Will Krapfl, Zach Abbey, and Drake Strnad took sixth place in the event with a time of 3:29.10. Schmidt, Frosty Lorimer, Sam Madson, and Matt Egts took seventh, timing in at 3:31.76 for the Knights.
Lorimer and Madson had top-8 finishes in the men's mile, timing in at 4:15.40 and 4:15.81 respectively. Sam Schmitz had a top-8 finish in the men's 5K, racing a 14:56.35.
Jacob Kamara had the top time for the Knights in the 200-meter dash, running a 23.45. Clapp ran a 51.92 in the men's 400-meter dash to lead the Orange & Black.
Max Goodhue competed in the men's triple jump, finishing with a 13.08m. Graeson Trevion led the Knights in the shot put (12.91m) as Aizik Hodak led the Knights in the weight throw (14.07m).
