The first quarter of this back-and-forth contest was dominated by Wartburg, who closed the first period on a 3-0 run to take a 3-1 lead.
Britta Solheim netted her first goal of the season off an assist from
Olivia Christianson to get the offense started.
Ellie Johnson and
Bri Greiskalns followed that up with unassisted goals of their own.
Clarke answered in the second period with Emily Moran scoring four of Clarke's five second-period goals. Solheim scored again in the second to keep the Knights afloat, but it was all Clarke in the second as they took a 6-4 lead into halftime.
Wartburg tied the game back up with 10:47 left in the third after two goals from Greiskalns, one was unassisted the other was assisted by Solheim. Greiskalns was far from over in the third as she assisted Christianson's first goal of the season and then scored two more of her own.
