DUBUQUE, Iowa—Rainy weather did not stop the No. 4 women and No. 7 Wartburg Knights Track and Field squad as they competed at the Loras Easter Midweek Invite this afternoon.
Several Knights matched records or landed on the All-Time Top-10 list for Wartburg Track & Field.
Women's Recap
- The Knights took four spots in the Top-8 of the 400-meter hurdles, led by Carson McSorley (1:04.70). Aricka Lambson (1:10.26) took third place followed by Ryin Lehmann (1:10.31) and Sailor Hinegardner (1:13.88).
- The women's 4x100 relay squad of Jackie Ganshirt, Brenna Jacobs, Mikala Sidney, and Addie Parker took runner-up honors with a time of 48.75.
- Annie Mast took third in the 1500-meter run, timing in at 5:15.15.
- Ganshirt took third in the 200-meter dash, timing in at 25.03.
- Rachel Nagel (59.69) and Macy Wilhelm (1:01.31) took second and third places in the 400-meter dash.
- Hinegardner and Lambson collected Top-4 finishes in the 100-meter hurdles, timing in at 15.49 and 16.13 respectively.
- Sidney and Jacobs went 5-6 in the 100-meter dash, timing in at 12.59 and 12.63 respectively.
- In discus throw, Tara Jochumsen led the way for the Knights with a mark of 35.06m. Emma True (31.02m) and Grace McCartan (29.94m) had Top-15 finishes.
- In the hammer throw, True and Haley Beminio led the Knights with throws of 45.25m and 43.96m. True matched her All-Time Top-10 list mark from earlier this season.
- Beminio led the Knights, placing third, in the shot put (12.75m).
Men's Recap
- Sean Henson, Deyton Love, Dallas Wright, and Riley Nolan claimed first place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.88. The relay squad tied with the record set in 2017 and lands in the Top-10 list at Wartburg.
- Wright led all athletes in the 400-meter hurdles, timing in at 52.54. Wright's time places him inside the All-Time Top-10 list at Wartburg.
- Love took second place in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking in at 14.82. Love moved up in the All-Time Top-10 list.
- Graeson Trevino finished in third place in the shot put, recording a mark of 13.48. Mason Lobeck finished in fifth with a mark of 13.41m.
- Nolan claimed a Top-4 spot in the 200-meter dash at 22.50.
- Zach Abbey and Drake Strnad took Top-8 finishes in the 400-meter dash with times of 51.24 and 53.89 respectively.
- Will Krapfl and Dalton Closson went 5-6 in the 400-meter hurdles with times of 59.20 and 59.41.
- Caden Miller-Baker led the Orange & Black in the 100-meter dash at 11.28. Jacob Kamara and Henson added times of 11.30 and 11.30 for the Knights.
- In the 800-meter run, Mohamed Temsah raced a 2:03.56.
- Adam Teare led the Orange & Black in the discus with a throw of 38.94m.
- In the hammer throw, Christian Nunley led the Orange & Black with a mark of 44.66m.
National Rankings
The women's program sits at No. 4 in this week's rankings from USTFCCCA.
The men's squad dropped to No. 7 in the rankings and is one of two American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) programs to be ranked inside the top-10.
