PLATTEVILLE, Wis.— Competing at the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 15, the nationally ranked Wartburg Knights Track and Field program brought home top-5 finishes.
In 19 scored events, the Knights men's program took fifth place with 74.50 points. The women took fourth place with 73 points.
Women's Recap
- Going 1-2 in the 5000-meter run, Aubrie Fisher (16:48.24) and Riley Mayer (16:55.15) led all competitors in the event.
- Taking runner-up honors in the 3000-meter Steeplechase, Moriah Morter clocked in at 11:39.95.
- Brenna Jacobs placed in the top-8 in the 200-meter dash, racing a 25.99. Macy Wilhelm placed in the top-10 in the race, clocking in at 26.52.
- Carson McSorley (2:20.03), Jackie Ganshirt (2:22.70), and Rachel Nagel (2:23.84) finished inside the top-8 of the 800-meter run.
- In the triple jump, Daekota Knott took home fourth-place with a mark of 11.29m.
- Aricka Lambson took home seventh-place in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:08.83.
- Jenna Morey (5:01.20), Ashley Bloomquist (5:03.38), and Erin Phelan (5:10.56) led the Knights in the 1500-meter run with top-8 finishes.
- Shaniah Johnson finished in the top-8 in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.20m.
- Lily Meester took seventh-place in the discus, recording a mark of 37.88m.
- Haley Beminio finished in the top-8 in the hammer throw at 43.15m. Beminio claimed a top-10 spot in the javelin at 28.96m.
- Wilhelm competed in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, racing a 12.99.
- Hailey Foxhoven (1.41m) and Ryin Lehmann (1.41m) competed in the high jump for the Orange & Black.
- Belle Albers placed inside the top-15 in the pole vault, recording a mark of 3.01m.
- Kristen Reicks finished in the top-10 in the shot put, recording a throw of 12.10m.
Men's Recap
- Wyatt Schmidt took top-honors in the 400-meter dash (50.87) as Sean Henson placed third in the race at 51.27.
- Deyton Love took top-honors in the 400-meter hurdles, racing a 55.18 in the event. Will Krapfl placed in the top-8 with a time of 58.11.
- Keegan Rich took the top spot in the long jump (6.89m) while Love took third with a mark of 6.86m.
- Dalton Martin took runner-up honors in the 1500-meter run, timing in at 4:04.36. Jacob VanderWilt placed in the top-8 in the race, clocking in at 4:11.13.
- Joe Freiburger took fourth-place in the 5000-meter, posting a time of 14:18.74. Christopher Collet placed inside the top-10 at 14:26.16.
- Trent Allard placed in the top-4 in the high jump, recording a mark of 1.86m.
- Graeson Trevino (14.59m) and Mason Lobeck placed in the top-8 in the shot put.
- Sam Madson placed in the top-15 in the 800-meter run, timing in at 2:00.60.
- Adam Teare took a top-15 spot in the discus, recording a mark of 39.32m.
- Christian Nunley placed in the top-15 in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 43.96m.
- Nathan MacDonald (3.48m) and Dalton Closson (3.48m) competed in the pole vault.
- Jacob Kamara competed in the 200-meter dash, racing a 22.57.
- Allard and Brody Herriott competed in the javelin throw, collecting marks of 34.76m and 33.40m respectively.
- Caden Miller-Baker raced in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash (11.13)
- Dallas Wright took first in the preliminaries of the 110-hurdles, clocking in at 14.61.
National Rankings
The women's program sits at No. 4 in this week's rankings from USTFCCCA.
The men's squad dropped to No. 7 in the rankings and is one of two American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) programs to be ranked inside the top-10.
