WAVERLY, Iowa—A pair of national rankings and top marks in the country, the Wartburg Track and Field squads are prepared for the 2022 American Rivers Conference Outdoor Track Championships. Action is slated to take place in Dubuque, Iowa at the Finnegan Family Track, hosted by Loras College.
The Knights men are looking to repeat as conference champions after claiming the crown last season. The Knights women are looking for their first conference title since the 2018-19 season.
The Wartburg women have won 22 conference titles, while the men lay claim to 11 championships.
Fans can follow
live results throughout the weekend. The
live stream will cover track events with footage brought in from throwing events, starting at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
National Rankings
On the national rankings, the Knights women land at No. 8 while the men sit at No. 13.
In the Midwest Regional rankings, the Knights men hold the top spot with four additional A-R-C schools holding top-10 spots. On the women's side, the Knights women sit at No. 3 in the Midwest Region.
Top Marks
Dallas Wright holds the top spot in the 400 hurdles. Wright has top-15 marks in the 110 hurdles and 4x100 relay.
Breya Christopher has the second-best mark in the nation in the high jump, while
Aubrie Fisher has the second-best mark in the 3000-meter Steeplechase.
Christopher Collet has the No. 3 time in the nation in the 3000-meter Steeplechase. Collet has a top-15 time in the 1500-meters and 5000-meters.
Joe Freiburger has a top-10 time in the 5000-meter.
In field events, Christopher (triple jump),
Daekota Knott (triple jump), and
Brenna Jacobs (javelin) have top-20 marks.
The Knights women's 4x400 relay ranks No. 7 in the nation as the men's 4x100 relay sits at No. 15.
Carson McSorley (400 hurdles),
Shaelyn Hostager (10,000-meter), and
Riley Mayer (5000-meter) have top-20 times in the events.
