Fisher Defends A-R-C Title; Knights Sitting in First Place After Day 2

DUBUQUE, Iowa— Aubrie Fisher defended her title in the 3000-meter Steeplechase as the Wartburg Knights Women's Track and Field squad is sitting in first place with 85 points after Day 2 of the American Rivers Conference Championship.
 
Women's Recap-Finals
  • Setting a new facility record, Fisher defended her title and claimed the first crown of the afternoon for the Knights, timing in at 10:41.70 in the 3000-meter Steeplechase. The facility record was 10:50.47 as Fisher broke it by nearly nine seconds.
  • Ellie Meyer also broke the facility record in the 3000-meter Steeplechase, taking runner-up honors with a time of 10:44.63. Moriah Morter claimed a top-5 finish in the race, clocking in at 11:22.27.
  • Taking runner-up honors in the high jump, Breya Christopher recorded a mark of 1.65m.
  • Lily Meester took runner-up honors in the discus with a throw of 41.33m. Talbot Kinney competed in the event, finishing in the top-8 with a throw of 38.70m.
  • The 4x800 relay squad of Rachel Nagel, Carson McSorley, Jenna Morey, and Meyer took runner-up honors with a time of 9:30.17.
  • In the 10K, the Orange & Black took four of the top-5 spots led by Riley Mayer (39:05.28). Shaelyn Hostager (39:05.55), Natalie Paulson (39:28.70), and Anna Hertz (39:28.74) rounded out the top-5 for Wartburg.
  • Meester took home fourth place in the women's shot put, recording a mark of 12.67m. Kristen Reicks finished in seventh place with a throw of 12.44m.
  • Daekota Knott and Shaniah Johnson placed inside the top-8 in the long jump, with jumps of 5.50m and 5.44m respectively.
  • Akyma Bush finished in eighth place in the heptathlon, recording 3393 points. Hailey Foxhoven rounded out the competition for the Knights, scoring 3239 points.
Women's Recap-Preliminaries
  • Jackie Ganshirt had the fastest preliminary time in the 400-meter dash for the Knights, leading all racers with a time of 56.32. Nagel and Taylan Olson also qualified for the finals, timing in at 58.82 and 59.76 respectively.
  • In the 400-meter hurdles, McSorley led all qualifiers with a time of 1:03.56. Aricka Lambson qualified in the event, timing in at 1:06.49.
  • Ganshirt and Mikala Sidney claimed spots in the finals of the 200-meter dash tomorrow, recording times of 25.04 and 25.76.
  • Sidney ran a time of 12.40 in the 100-meter dash, qualifying for the finals.
  • Lambson and Sailor Hinegardner qualified in the 100 hurdles for the Knights.
  • The Orange & Black had three qualifiers in the 800-meter dash. Brielle Ruch clocked in at 2:19.86, while Lexi Brown (2:21.81) and Morey (2:20.38) claimed spots in the finals.
