DUBUQUE, Iowa—Sitting in first place after Day 2 of the American Rivers Conference Championship, the Wartburg Knights Men's Track and Field squad has claimed three crowns and broke three conference records
Men's Recap-Finals
- Joe Freiburger defended his title in the 10K and broke the conference record in the event by five seconds. Freiburger ran a 30:20.66 in the event, to lead all runners.
- Christopher Collet and Connor Lancial broke the conference record and went 1-2 in the 3000-meter Steeplechase. Collet ran a 9:09.51 for the conference title, while Lancial clocked in at 9:11.51, breaking the record by less than a second (previous record was 9:12.94).
- Records kept breaking for the Knights as the 4x800 relay squad of Wyatt Schmidt, Dalton Martin, Matt Heinzman, and Frosty Lorimer took top honors with a time of 7:33.43. The previous record was 7:35.62.
- Jay Mixdorf took runner-up honors in the 10K, timing in at 30:39.82. Morgan Shirley-Fairbairn and Drew Hoffman placed inside the top-8 for the Knights in the 10K, racing a 30:49.01 and 31:55.22 for the Knights.
- Deyton Love took runner-up honors in the long jump, recording a mark of 7.18m.
- Mason Lobeck and Graeson Trevino finished inside the top-5 in the shot put with marks of 15.12m and 15.04m.
- Trent Allard tied for seventh place in the high jump, recording a jump of 1.87m.
- Adam Teare finished inside the top-8 in the discus, throwing a 43.11m in the event.
- In the decathlon, Dalton Closson finished in sixth place, scoring 5597 points. Nathan MacDonald had a top-10 finish, scoring 4898 points.
Men's Recap-Preliminaries
- Dallas Wright was one of four individuals to break the facility record in the 200-meter preliminary, timing in at 21.31. The facility record was set at 21.46. Riley Nolan qualified for the finals in the 200-meter dash, timing in at 21.65.
- Love ran the fastest time in the 110 hurdles, clocking in at 14.50.
- Wright had the fast time in the 400-meter dash, timing in at 48.21.
- Nolan advanced to the finals in the 100-meter dash, running a 10.76 in the event.
- Schmidt clocked in at 1:52.63 in the 800-meter run to advance to the finals.
- Love and Will Krapfl claimed spots in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles. Love clocked in at 55.38, while Krapfl timed in at 56.62.
