DUBUQUE, Iowa—Claiming five event titles and resetting the conference record in the 1500-meter run, the Wartburg Knights Men's Track and Field squad finished in second place at the 2022 American Rivers Conference Championship.
The men scored 181 points to claim second place.
Deyton Love (110 hurdles),
Dallas Wright (200 and 400),
Christopher Collet (1500), and the 4x400 relay squad all claimed individual titles.
Dallas Wright was named the American Rivers Conference Outdoor MVP for track, his second time earning the honor.
Men's Recap
- Love captured the 2022 tile in the 110 hurdles, clocking in at 14.22. Love's time was a championship time, resetting the record by .05 seconds.
- Wright claimed the 200 and 400-meter dashes, with times of 21.09 and 46.87 respectively. Wright's time in the 400-meter dash was a championship record, breaking the previous record of 46.92. Wright tied the All-Time Conference record as he claimed the crown, as the previous record was 21.09.
- Collet took home the top spot in the 1500-meter run, recording a time of 3:46.56. Collet's mark is the All-Time Conference record
- Wright, Dalton Martin, Sean Henson, and Wyatt Schmidt took home top-honors in a thrilling 4x400-meter relay, timing in at 3:14.89.
- Joe Freiburger took runner-up honors in the 5000-meter run, timing in at 14:58.03. Sam Schmitz placed inside the top-5 at 15:05.52.
- The 4x100 relay squad of Henson, Love, Wright, and Riley Nolan claimed second place with a time of 40.69. The squad time also reset the facility record.
- Love took runner-up honors in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 52.40. Will Krapfl competed in the event, timing in at 56.60.
- Keegan Rich took third in the triple jump, recording a jump of 13.79m.
- Quinten Sommers ran a 15.81 in the 110 hurdles, placing inside the top-8.
- Nolan competed in the 100-meter dash, timing in at 10.87. Nolan raced in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 22.10.
- Schmidt clocked in at 1:52.67 in the 800-meter run, claiming fourth.
- Matt Egts and Nolan competed in the javelin for the Knights, finishing in the top-8. Egts had a throw of 48.54m while Nolan recorded a mark of 47.53m.
- Carson Collet finished in the top-10 in the pole vault, recording a jump of 3.81m.
- Christian Nunley had a top-10 finish in the hammer throw, recording a throw of 48.30m.
The Knights return to action at the NCAA last chance qualifiers next week ahead of the 2022 NCAA National Championship.
