WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's soccer closed the 2023 season with an overall record of 12-2-6 and an American Rivers Conference record of 5-1-2 under head coach Mike Madigan in his seventh year. The Knights season was highlighted by an A-R-C Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
 
After finishing second in the regular season standings, the Knights defeated the University of Dubuque 1-0 in the semifinals before going on the road to defeat Loras 1-0 for the A-R-C Tournament crown. The A-R-C title and NCAA Tournament berth was the first since 2014. Wartburg was selected to host rounds one and two of the NCAA Tournament where the Knights fell to Gustavus Adolphus in the first round.
 
Paul Devine, Michael Dunn, Alima Mmunga, Curtis Ratzer, Edvin Rizvic earned spots on the All-Conference team, as well as Brennon Woody who was also named the A-R-C Defensive MVP. Devine, Ratzer, Rizvic and Woody all earned All-Region honors. Woody was named a third team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, which is the first All-American since 2015.
 
The Knights had 14 named to the A-R-C Academic All-Conference list this season. Devine, Sam McDevitt, Ratzer, Rizvic, Andrew Valenzuela and Woody were all named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
Devine, Ratzer, Rizvic and Woody were also named Academic All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches, with Devine Rizvic and Woody all moving on to Scholar All-American teams.
