Lacrosse Falls 23-6 to Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Wartburg women's lacrosse continued Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play on Sunday, Apr. 2 with a 23-6 loss to Lake Forest College on the road. The Knights move to 2-7 overall and to 1-1 in MWLC play.
 
Game Summary
  • First Period
    • Lake Forest opened the game with two goals in the first two minutes and then added a third with just over nine minutes to take a 3-0 lead
    • The Knights answered with a man-up goal from Britta Solheim with 7:03 left in the first
    • Beka Gershenoff scored and then assisted the game tying goal from Lindsay Langford with 3:05 left to make it 3-3
    • Lake Forest scored two goals in the final minute to lead 5-3 after one period
  • Second Period
    • The Foresters scored two more goals in the first five minute of the second period to take a 7-3 lead
    • After almost five minutes of no scoring, Lake Forest added two goals within a minute of each other to go up 9-3
    • The Foresters added two more goals before Solheim stopped the run after she scored with an assist from Gershenoff
    • Lake Forest led 11-4 at halftime
  • Third Period
    • Lake Forest came out of halftme and scored the first two goals of the second half before Langford got the Knights on the board with a goal assisted by Solheim
    • Over the next six minutes Lake Forest went on a 4-0 run to take a 17-5 lead with 5:26 left in the third
    • The Foresters continued their scoring run and finished the third period up 21-5
  • Fourth Period
    • After two goals from Lake Forest, Langford stopped the run with her third goal of the game
    • Lake Forest closed the game with a 23-6 win
