FOREST CITY, Iowa -- The No. 10-ranked Wartburg women's wrestling team (1-0, 1-0 A-R-C) posted a strong performance at the Waldorf University Open on Saturday, collecting four podium finishes across the College and Frosh/Soph divisions.
Kaydn Meyer led the way for the Knights, capturing the 131-pound title in the Frosh/Soph division with a pin over Iowa Central's Annabelle Petsinger in the championship bout.
In the College division,
Sophie Bowers,
Aubrie Pehrson, and
May Prado each earned third-place finishes in their respective weight classes. Bowers went 5-1 on the day to take bronze at 131 pounds, closing with a dominant 13-3 tech fall over Grand View's Jasmine Serrano in 4:53. Pehrson added a third-place finish at 138 pounds after a no-decision win against Sioux Falls' Johanna Steinlict, while Prado secured third at 160 pounds with a 5-3 decision victory in her final match.
