STORM LAKE, Iowa -- The Wartburg College women's wrestling team posted several strong performances at the BVU Women's Open, highlighted by multiple top-four finishes and bonus-point wins throughout the lineup.

At 103 pounds, Jacey Mason led the Knights with a runner-up showing, scoring 17.5 team points. Mason advanced to the championship bout with a pair of bonus-point victories, including a technical fall and a first-period pin. Lainey Shelangoski added a fourth-place finish at the same weight. At 110,  Ava Gardner finished fourth after opening the tournament with two technical falls. Carissa Hersom also competed at 110, picking up a consolation-round technical fall. At 117 pounds, Jasmine Luedtke turned in a fourth-place effort. Luedtke recorded a pin, decision, and technical fall en route to the semifinals.

Another fourth-place finish came at 124 pounds from Sophie Bowers, who tallied a pair of technical falls on the day. Leah Chandler added a consolation technical fall at the weight. In the 131-class, Cailyn Whittier placed eighth after recording a pin in the opening round, and a technical fall later in the consolation rounds. Wartburg had a trio of solid finishes at 145 pounds. Izzy Giza and Alex Harswick each placed sixth. Giza tallied a fall in under a minute in the quarterfinal.
