Four Knights Earn All-Conference Honors; Faber and Amsberry Earn Individual Awards

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced its season awards and all-conference teams on Tuesday, Mar. 4 with the Knights earning two out of four possible season awards and four players named to All-Conference teams.
 
Sara Faber was named Defensive Player of the Year to go along with First Team All-Conference honors. This is the second time in program history a Knight has earned Defensive Player of the Year from the A-R-C (Leslie Wilson 2012). This is the second-straight season Faber has earned First Team All-Conference honors and is her fourth overall All-Conference selection. The Clear Lake, Iowa native led the A-R-C in total steals (80) and steals per game this season (3.0). Faber is averaging 15 points per game (sixth in A-R-C), 4.9 rebounds per game and 3.9 assists per game this season (fourth in A-R-C). Faber also is tied for the team lead in three pointers made this season with 49.
 
Head Coach Bob Amsberry took home Coach of the Year honors after completing a second-straight season undefeated in A-R-C play. Amsberry earned his sixth Coach of the Year honor since the 2015-16. season. Over that time (2016-2025), Wartburg is 126-10 in regular season A-R-C play and has won six A-R-C tournament titles.
 
Jaedon Murphy earned her fifth All-Conference selection in 2024-25 after being named First Team All-Conference for the third time in her career. Murphy led the Knights in scoring for a fourth-straight season with an average of 15.9 points per game (fourth in A-R-C). The Alleman, Iowa native led the A-R-C in total blocks (47) and blocks per game (1.7) this season. Murphy has been the most efficient three-point shooter for the Knights this season with a 35.3% three-point percentage while also tying for the team-high in three pointers made so far with 49. Murphy also added 7.2 rebounds per game (sixth in A-R-C) as well as 2.4 assists per game and 1.1 steals per game.
 
Lauren Woeste earned her first career First Team All-Conference this season after being an honorable mention a season ago. After averaging eight points per game a season ago, Woeste increased her scoring average to 14.9 points per game in 2024-25 (seventh in A-R-C). The Atkins, Iowa native led the A-R-C in field goal percentage this season with a current mark of 64.9% (ranks first overall in Division III as of 3/2/25). Woeste also leads the Knights in rebounding with 7.8 per game (fourth in A-R-C) as well as free throw percentage (min. 50 made) at 82.1% this season.
 
Britney Young was named an honorable mention this season, which marked her third-straight season being honored by the A-R-C. Young is a two-time Second Team All-Conference performer and this marks her first honorable mention nod. The Waverly, Iowa native averages 3.3 assists per game, which ranks second on the Knights and eighth overall in the A-R-C. Despite missing a few games this season, Young ranks third on the team in three pointers made with 43 and ranks ninth overall in the A-R-C.
