CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --Â Wartburg College senior
Rewa Chababo (Katy, Texas / Mayde Creek HS) has been named the American Rivers Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week, as announced Monday.
Chababo claimed the 207-pound title at the NCAA Region V Championships in Indianola, finishing the weekend a perfect 4–0. Her championship run included two technical falls, one fall, and a decision victory in the title bout over No. 2-ranked Katja Osteen of the University of Iowa, marking just Osteen's second loss of the season.
Chababo also recorded the fourth-fastest fall of the tournament, pinning N. Gratschmayr of the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 0:19. One of seven Knights to qualify for the NCAA Championships, Chababo helped lead Wartburg College to a Region V runner-up finish with 146 team points. She carries a 28-2 record this season, including 10 wins by fall and seven by technical fall.
