Andy Fischels ’00:
Andy was a four-year member of the baseball team and was a two-time All-Region and four-time All-Conference honoree, which included two First-team accolades. He was a member of the teams that started the 12 years of consecutive Iowa Conference Championships and was the starting shortstop all four years. Wartburg advanced to the NCAA Regional all four years and the College World Series in 2000. Andy is the all-time career leader in games played (193), hits (265), triples (17), runs scored (226), total bases (413) and assists (514) and is ranked in the top 10 of six other career categories. He resides in Golden, Colo. and is the language arts teacher at West Middle School in Cherry Creek, Colo.
