Sandra Buhrow ’81
Mathematics Teacher

A two-sport athlete in golf and softball, Buhrow was a meet medalist or runner-up in all but four meets at Wartburg. As a junior, she was state medalist and qualified for the NCAA Division III national tournament. She was a three-time team Most Valuable Player and a four-time first team all-Iowa Conference selection. In softball, she threw two no-hitters in four seasons—one against Iowa State as a freshman—and posted a single-season-best nine wins in 1980. She was a four-year letterwinner and earned first team all-Iowa Conference and all-region honors following her senior season. A mathematics teacher at Washington Junior High School, Buhrow gives golf lessons during the summer. As former head softball coach at Washington High School, she guided the Demons to three regional finals and coached high school Hall of Fame pitcher Lesli Eyestone Lien '96. Buhrow is a mathematics teacher and coach at Washington Junior High School.
