Verne Houston ’05:

Verne was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team and was a Third-team All-American his senior year. He was also a two-time All-Region honoree and four-time First-team All-Conference selection. Verne is the all-time career leader in goals (75) and penalty kicks (8) and is second in points (162), game-winning goals (15) and goals per game (.94). Wartburg won the Iowa Conference Championship in 2004 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2003 and 2004. Verne lives in Clive, Iowa with his wife, Katie (Rapp) ’05, and their three daughters, Abby, Josie and Penny. Verne is a premium auditor at Travelers Insurance.
