Jacob was a four-year member of the football and men’s basketball programs. The 1999 football team won the Iowa Conference championship as did the 2000-01 men’s basketball team. He was a two-time All-Conference selection in both football and basketball. Olsen played 36 games at quarterback and threw for 5,121 yards and 43 touchdowns. He played 102 games on the basketball team and had 1,067 points. Olsen, who lives in Peosta, is the offensive coordinator and the inaugural head men’s lacrosse coach at the University of Dubuque.
