The football program's all-time career (4,661 yards) and single-season (1.525 yards) rushing leader, Beatty was a four-year letterwinner, earned first-team all-Iowa Conference honors in 1993 and 1994, and was an all-American following his senior season. He rushed for 1,000 yards or more three times in his career and was the team's Most Valuable Player in 1993 and 1994. He resides in Independence, Iowa, where he is director and manager of the city's pool complex, recreation center, R.V. park and parks.
