Probably the best pure passer in Wartburg football history, Walljasper was named to the All-Iowa Conference first team three times and was league MVP in 1984. He led the Knights to their first NCAA postseason tournament appearance in 1982. During his career, he completed 537 of 1,003 passes for 7,025 yards and 49 touchdowns, while leading the Knights to a four-year grid record of 29-8 and two IIAC titles. He continues to hold nine school records in passing and total offense. Walljasper works for Carlson Search Group as partner and leadership development consultant in West Des Moines, Iowa.
