Hall of Fame
Mitchell was a four-year wrestler and competed on the 1999 National Championship team. He was a three-time All-American where he finished as the National Runner-up in 1999 and placed third twice in his career. Mitchell was part of four Iowa Conference championship teams, was a three-time Iowa Conference individual champion and compiled 114 wins in his career. He has been the head wrestling coach at Grand View University in Des Moines since 2008 and has started the program from scratch. The Vikings took fifth at the NAIA National Tournament in 2011 and won the National Title in 2012. Mitchell lives in Ankeny.
