One of the pioneers of the women's basketball program, Whitehurst concluded her career with 1,313 points, ranking sixth all-time. She lettered in each of her four seasons and led the team in scoring each time. She is now works as a physical therapist at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.
